Saturday, 9 March, marked the opening of the extensive NJP exhibition at the Preus Museum in Horten. The projects of 16 photographers from the two most recent rounds of NJP will be on exhibit.
It was a full house when Director of the Preus Museum Cecilie Øien welcomed the public to the opening of the exhibition on Saturday. Cicilie S. Andersen, president of the Press Photographers’ Club of Norway, talked about the value of photographs and the projects on exhibit.
The walls of the huge depot building at Karljohansvern Fortress in Horten currently form the backdrop for the projects of 16 NJP photographers, which are in various formats and sizes. The photographers took part in NJP between 2019 and 2023.
Following the opening ceremony, Senior Curator Hege Oulie talked about the development of the documentary image, based both on a Norwegian and an international perspective. After that, NJP editors Rune Eraker, Laara Matsen and Espen Rasmussen engaged in a discussion with writer, photographer and editor John Erik Riley.

The exhibition will run until 20 October. It has been curated by Rune Eraker from NJP and Senior Curator Hege Oulie at Preus. The photographers on exhibit are:
Christian Belgaux, Chris Harrison, Hilde Honerud, Lars Martin Hunstad, Katinka Hustad, Matthis Kleeb, Sofie Amalie Klougart, Erle Kyllingmark, Maria Lyngnes, Giulia Mangione, Geir Moseid, Brian Cliff Olguin, Javad Parsa, Jo Straube, Nora Savosnick and Simen R. Ulvestad.
