Up to now, I have concentrated on the Roma identity and on how their society is gradually changing as it is being influenced by Western ideals.
Many of the families I follow have been travelling to Norway for many years. Their only source of income is the money they make in Norway. The Roma travel continuously to Western Europe and it is apparent that their traditions and society are gradually changing as a result.
I have continued taking pictures of the young people who married at age 13 and I’ve seen how they live now as a very young married couple. In one Romanian village, almost everyone has one or more family members who travel to Norway every year.
I have chosen to concentrate on this particular village because everyone has a strong connection to Norway.
