At 1 p.m. on Saturday, 1 June, the public is invited to meet photographer Javad M. Parsa at the Preus Museum. His photographs tell a personal story of life in exile and of his meeting with a new home country.<\/p>\n

Javad was forced to flee from Iran because of his work as a photojournalist. To date, he has been taking photos of Iranians in exile for more than 14 years. Javad describes his project as follows:<\/p>\n

“This (\u2026) is my personal story about Iranians in exile all over the world. They will talk about their everyday lives, their dreams for the future, and Javad’s photojournalistic method. The event will be free of charge, and it will be followed by an informal luncheon, so the talk can continue around the table.<\/p>\n

The event is part of the exhibition of mounted by The Norwegian Journal of Photography <\/i>(NJP) at the Preus Museum.<\/a>\u00a0The exhibition will display the works of 16 photographers, all of whom have part of a project that promotes documentary photography in Norway.<\/p>\n

To date, in collaboration with Fritt Ord, NJP has supported and completed six rounds of NJP, each with a duration of two years. The photographers work with a variety of topics, but the common denominator for all the participants is their belief that pictures tell stories. Javad M.
