{"id":1263,"date":"2012-05-08T12:19:45","date_gmt":"2012-05-08T10:19:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.njp.no\/?p=1263"},"modified":"2023-03-22T08:30:04","modified_gmt":"2023-03-22T07:30:04","slug":"opening-of-the-european-photo-exhibition-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/njp.no\/en\/2012\/opening-of-the-european-photo-exhibition-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Opening of the European Photo Exhibition Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>EPEA &#8211; European Photo Exhibition Award &#8211; opened on May 3 in Hamburg with projects from the Norwegian NJP-photographers Marie Sj\u00f8vold and Monica Larsen, among others.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Marie Sj\u00f8vold will be showing her series of photos entitled &#8216;Midnight Milk&#8217;, which explores what happens with our identity and self-image when we have children. Monica Larsen&#8217;s photo essay is entitled &#8216;Closer in the Distance&#8217;, and it deals with migration, women and the role of a mother.\u00a0One of Marie Sj\u00f8vold&#8217;s photographs has been chosen as the signature image for the exhibition in Haus der Photographie in Hamburg.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fritt-ord.no\/en\/hjem\/mer\/european_photo_exhibitions_award_01_european_identities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Fritt Ord Foundation<\/a> is opening the exhibition with photo essays by the 12 young European photographers in collaboration with the K\u00f6rber Foundation, Banca del Monte di Lucca Foundation and the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>A team of curators, consisting of photographer Rune Eraker from Norway, sociologist and curator S\u00e9rgio Mah from Portugal, artistic director Enrico Stefanelli from the Lucca Photo Festival in Italy and director Ingo Taubhorn from the House of Photography in Deictorhallen in Hamburg, have followed the 12 selected photographers throughout the preparation of the various photo essays and at joint workshops with the photographers.<\/p>\n<p>In connection with the opening of the exhibition in Hamburg, an illustrated catalogue in the art photo series will be published by Kerber Verlag, Bielefeld\/Berlin.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition &#8216;European Photo Exhibition Award 01: European Identities&#8217; in Hamburg marks the start of an exhibition tour in Europe. In autumn 2012, the photo essays will be shown at exhibitions and photo festivals in Paris and Lucca. In spring 2013, the exhibition will be shown at the Nobel Peace Centre in Oslo.<\/p>\n<p>The first venue for the exhibition will devote attention to different aspects of &#8216;European identities&#8217;.
