The project “The Hessdalen Valley and the quest into the unknown” addresses a mystical phenomenon found in a more or less well-known Norwegian valley.
In a climate that has not traditionally been very open or transparent with a view to interpersonal relationships, and at a time when the cold war still enveloped Scandinavia in a cloud of uncertainty and unwarranted secrecy, it took a long time before anyone dared to talk about what they saw.
Using a combination of my own photographs and material from archives, I aspire to tell the story of what the local population and curious visitors observed, and to shed light on the consequences these observations had for the tiny local community.
The project will be published in its entirety in book form by Forlaget Press.
