This weekend marked the final round of editing for the eight NJP photographers.
The photographers got one hour each with the editors Rune Eraker, Laara Matsen, Espen Rasmussen and the publicist Gösta Flemming. The four presented their editing suggestions to the photographers, and they collaborated on the final choices for printing in the second edition of the Norwegian Journal of Photography.
The photographers have been working on their projects intensely for the past two years. Halfway through, there was session at Holmsbu outside Oslo to go through the pictures and make further plans. Underway, the photographers have been in touch with the three editors, both for suggestions about the photography itself and with a view to editing.
The final pieces fell into place in Oslo this weekend, and now Gösta Flemming of Journal publishing house will start designing the book. At the same time, the photographers will continue to work on their photos and submit finished texts in preparation for a spring launch of the book.
The photographers Jonas Bendiksen, Tomm W. Christiansen, Ivar Kvaal, Mathilde Hele Pettersen, Knut Egil Wang, Terje Abusdal, Anne-Stine Johnsbråten and Margaret M. de Lange have very different projects and expressions, ranging from classical reporting and work in the interface between art and documentary.
